When The End Comes

I look at the sunrise

Through the window of my early morning train

And as I stare at our star and I marvel

At the wonderful beauty of it’s power

I know that when my time comes

I do not wish to pass in peace

To drift away in soft linen sheets

But for the terrible and awesome

Tides of the universe to reclaim me

For nature to decide that

I’ve had this body for long enough

And remind me at the end

I only borrowed this life.
